Where are the best places to get plants for the garden?

Jan SmithSunday, Jun. 08, 2008, at 8:04 pm

I've had mixed results from various mail order sources as well as many of the local garden centers. Where should I go for perennials?

I highly recommend Urhausen: http://www.urhausengreenhouses.com/
Just go. You'll thank me.

Anton's is one my wife and upstairs neighbor use and they turn this ordinary apartment building into a magnificent site to behold. But there are more, I'll get back to you on them. One is located at Crawford and old Glenview Road on the northwest end of town.

After failed plantings from Home Depot, we try to buy everything from Anton's now. It's selection is terrific, much of it is ready to bloom in your yard this year, and you are supporting a local business. Can't get better than that.

Anton's has a good selection and it appears most of their stock is locally growen -
