About me: I'm an Evanston mom and the founder & director of ParentsWork (www.parentswork.org), a nonprofit Illinois parents' organization dedicated to creating more family-friendly communities, schools and workplaces. Since we are based in Evanston, many of our members are also parents of D65 and D202 students and have been the driving force behind our advocacy campaign for a school calendar that is more sensitive to the needs of working families.
