I'm an Evanston mom and the founder & director of ParentsWork (www.parentswork.org), a nonprofit Illinois parents' organization dedicated to creating more family-friendly communities, schools and workplaces. Since we are based in Evanston, many of our members are also parents of D65 students and the driving force behind our advocacy for a school calendar that is more sensitive to the needs of working families.
