Evanston Hospital cited for women’s health

A magazine for hospital CEOs and CFOs has included Evanston Hospital in its list of the 100 hospitals in the United States “with great women’s health programs.”

Becker’s Hospital Review said that “clinical outcomes in the gynecology and obstetrics divisions of Evanston Hospital, and parent organization NorthShore University HealthSystem, have consistently ranked favorably compared with other similar institutions across the country.

It says the hospital’s Caesarean section rate is far lower than the average institution and noted that the hospital “serves as a regional perinatal network hospital for northeastern Illinois, meaning high-risk mothers and high-risk babies are transferred to Evanston to receive care in its infant special care unit."

The magazine said its editorial team selected the hospitals on its list “based on clinical accolades, quality care, and women's health proficiencies and awards.”
