Foreclosure prevention workshop at library

The Interfaith Housing Center of the Northern Suburbs hosts a free foreclosure workshop at the Evanston Public Library on Monday, Sept. 24.

The workshop,  from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the library at 1703 Orrington Ave., will address issues including refinance scams, mortgage affordability, renters living is foreclosure units, fair-lending rights and more.

Interfaith Housing Center is a HUD-certified housing counseling agency that works with the City of Evanston and its residents.

Interfaith's housing counselors can help residents negotiate loan modifications with their lender and offer foreclosure counseling.

The group is based in Winnetka but schedules meetings with residents at the Evanston Civic Center. Residents can call Interfaith at 847-501-5760 to schedule an appointment. All services are free and confidential.
