Tires slashed on 3 cars in parking lot on Howard

EVANSTON CRIME

All the tires were slashed on a 2000 Chevrolet, a 1995 Dodge, and a 2004 Kia in an apartment parking lot in the 1900 block of Howard Street. Also, there were a number of incidents of graffiti throughout the city. These stories and others in the weekend roundup of crime in the daily bulletin from Evanston police.

 

Battery

1454 Elmwood

Carrie Sade Fagbemi, 40, of 2026 Emerson St., was arrested at Evanston police headquarters at 4:45 p.m. Saturday and charged with simple battery. She is due in court on Aug. 23 at 1:30 p.m.

1906 Asbury

Adam J. Tuft, 29, of 1906 Asbury Ave., was arrested at home at 1:05 a.m. Friday and charged with domestic battery. He is due in court on July 24 at 9:30 a.m.

Burglary

900 Washington

Cash was stolen from an unlocked 1995 Jeep parked on the street in the 900 block of Washington Street between 6 p.m. July 6 and 5:56 p.m. the following day.

Criminal damage to vehicle

1600 Emerson

The roofs of some Mazdas were damaged at a car lot in the 1600 block of Emerson Street at 3:31 p.m. Saturday.

1900 Howard

Someone slashed all the tires on a 2000 Chevrolet, a 1995 Dodge, and a 2004 Kia in an apartment parking lot in the 1900 block of Howard Street between 10 p.m. Saturday and 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

2300 Orrington

The rear window was broken on a 2011 Honda parked on the street in the 2300 block of Orrington Avenue between 11:29 a.m. and 12:29 p.m. Friday.

Graffiti

1000 Grove

Graffiti defaced a building in the 1000 block of Grove Street between 2:30 a.m. and 3 a.m. Sunday.

1000 Davis

Graffiti defaced a commercial establishment in the 1000 block of Davis Street between 5 a.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. Sunday.

1500 Oak

Graffiti defaced two apartments in the 1500 block of Oak Street between 10 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

2200 Payne

Graffiti defaced a sidewalk in the 2200 block of Payne Street between 8 a.m. Tuesday and 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Other

2210 Lake

Samuel F. Miller, 75, of 1458 S. Canal St., Chicago, was arrested at 2210 Lake St. at 6:01 p.m. Friday and charged with a violation of an order of protection. He is due in court on July 24 at 9:30 a.m.

Theft

1600 Monroe

A cell phone was stolen from an apartment in the 1600 block of Monroe Street around 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

200 Hartrey

Four tires were stolen from a 2013 Chrysler in a business parking lot in the 200 block of Hartrey Avenue between 9 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

1800 Sheridan

A purse left unattended at a park in the 1800 block of Sheridan Road was stolen between 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Sunday.

600 South Boulevard

Someone stole a cell phone from a passenger on a CTA train at the South Boulevard station at 11:10 a.m. Friday. Suspect is a 5-foot-9-inch-tall black male weighing 130 pounds.

Traffic

427 Asbury

Melinda Michela Remied, 44, of 808 Dodge Ave., was arrested at 427 Asbury Ave. at 2:08 a.m. Friday and charged with a traffic violation. Court date is set for Aug. 30 at 9 a.m.

Elmwood at Lake

Eugenia G. Tingas, 23, of Schaumburg, was arrested at Elmwood Avenue and Lake Street at 5:17 p.m. Saturday and charged with a traffic violation. Court date is set for Aug. 6 at 10:30 a.m.

1800 Ridge

Dan J. Oncrick, 47, of 2538 W. Pratt, Chicago, was arrested at 1800 Ridge Ave. at 6:27 p.m. Thursday and charged with driving under the influence. He is due in court on Aug 7 at 9 a.m.

1920 Central

Enrique Perez, 39, of 2125 N. Mason Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 1920 Central St. at 1:20 p.m. Thursday and charged with a traffic violation. Court date is set for Aug. 23 at 10:30 a.m.

936 Chicago

Guadlupe Plata, 24, of 1941 W. Touhy Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 936 Chicago Ave. at 2:40 p.m. Thursday and charged with a traffic violation. Court date is set for Aug. 13 at 10:30 a.m.

2805 Park Place

Ian C. Proctor, 24, of 2805 Park Place, was arrested at home at 3:05 a.m. Friday and charged with driving under the influence. He is due in court on Aug. 13 at 9 a.m.
