Randy Nelson, 43, of 1510 Central St., was arrested at 2121 Darrow Ave. at 6:38 p.m. Thursday and charged with simple assault and domestic battery. He is due in court on Nov. 9 at 9 a.m. on the assault charge and on Oct. 31 at 9:30 a.m. on the battery charge.

A taxi driver was grabbed by an unknown offender in the 1700 block of Orrington Avenue between 6:25 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. Saturday. Suspect is a 5-foot-5-inch-tall Asian male.
Anthony Cesario Cox, 22, of 1039 McDaniel Ave., was arrested at 1618 Darrow Ave. at 2:47 a.m. Friday and charged with domestic battery. He is due in court on Oct. 31 at 9:30 a.m.
Angelique N. Robinson, 34, of 1711 Grey Ave., was arrested at her home at 8:16 p.m. Thursday and charged with domestic battery. She is due in court on Oct. 31 at 9:30 a.m.
Burglary
A burglar entered a home in the 1400 block of Seward Street via an unlocked rear door between 8 a.m. Oct. 22 amd 4:15 p.m. Friday and stole a laptop computer, two bicycles, and miscellaneous hand tools.
Someone pried open the front door of an apartment in the 1300 block of Brummel Street between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Friday and stole a laptop computer, an X-Box gaming system, and a Sony Playstation.
Someone broke a small window, reached in, grabbed keys, and opened the door to a restaurant in the 2600 block of Gross Point Road between 8 p.m. Saturday and 5 a.m. Sunday. Suspect is a 6-foot-tall white male weighing 250 pounds.
An offender was seen inside a 2010 Mazda parked on the street in the 2500 block of Hastings Avenue between 9:50 p.m. and 10:01 p.m. Saturday. Suspect is a 5-foot-9-inch-tall male weighing 160 pounds.
Someone entered an unlocked 2007 Mini Cooper parked on the street in the 2500 block of Hastings Avenue between noon Saturday and 5 p.m. Sunday and stole the vehicle registration.
Someone stole a laptop computer and a briefcase from a condominium in the 1700 block of Oak Avenue between 11:30 a.m. and 5:10 p.m. Friday.
Criminal damage to property
The rear gate was damaged to an apartment/condo common area in the 500 block of Sheridan Square at 9:48 a.m. Saturday.
Political signs were damaged in the yard of a home in the 1000 block of Maple Avenue between 9 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday.
Criminal damage to vehicle
The side mirror was broken on a 1998 Toyota parked on the street in the 1200 block of Fowler Avenue between 11:30 p.m. Wednesday and 6:30 a.m. Thursday. Suspect is a 5-foot-9-inch-tall black female weighing 125 pounds.
A 2004 Jeep was keyed between 8:10 and 8:45 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot of a business in the 2100 block of Ashland Avenue.
Jesus Montoya, 25, of River Grove, was arrested at 1454 Elmwood Ave. at 6 p.m. Saturday and charged with criminal damage to vehicle. He is due in court on Nov. 29 at 9 a.m.

Shelly M. Henderson, 28, of 1359 N. Lawndale Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 901 Grove St. at 5:30 p.m. Friday and charged with forgery. Court date is set for Nov. 20 at 9 a.m.
Brittany F. Jackson, 22, of 9101 Lawler, Skokie, was arrested at 824 Dodge Ave. at 1 a.m. Friday and charged with disobedience to police. Court date is set for Nov. 1 at 9 a.m.
Kevin R. Little, 20, of 611 N. Wells St., Chicago, was arrested at his home at 10:45 a.m. Saturday and charged with telephone harrassment. He is due in court on Nov. 7 at 9:30 a.m.
Samuel Anthony Thomas, 19, of 1328 Brummel St., was arrested at his home at 10:25 p.m. Saturday and charged with disorderly conduct. He is due in court on Nov. 21 at 9 a.m.
David Benjamin Waymer, 3d, 20, of 1420 Chicago Ave., was arrested at his home at 11:30 p.m. Friday and charged with illegal possession of alcohol as a minor. He is due in court on Dec. 17 at 9 a.m.
Shots heard
Gunshots were reported at Simpson Street and Darrow Avenue at 10:05 p.m. Friday. Police checked the area but nothing was found.

Gas was siphoned from a 2008 Toyota parked on the street in the 500 block of Judson Avenue between 4:41 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. Saturday.
Rodney A. Harvey, Jr., 31, of 9144 Korczak, Skokie, was arrested at 1111 Chicago Ave. at 8:23 p.m. Friday and charged with retail theft of food from a grocery store. He is due in court on Dec. 5 at 9 a.m.
Someone removed the lock from a locker in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue between 7:20 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Friday and stole a laptop computer.
A wallet was taken from a purse in a medical office in the 1000 block of University Place between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Thursday. Suspect is a black male.
Someone took a wallet from a purse at a hospital in the 300 block of Ridge Avenue between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Friday.
Layton James Jones, 19, of 2426 Church St., was arrested at 1454 Elmwood Ave. at 5:30 p.m. Thursday and charged with retail theft. He is due in court on Nov. 7 at 9 a.m.

Bianca Garcia, 20, of 2012 Foster St., was arrested at 1921 Foster St. at 1:10 p.m. Friday and charged with a traffic violation. Court date is set for Nov. 9 at 9 a.m.
Tammie Yvonne Mills, 47, of 2028 Emerson St., was arrested at 1741 Grey Ave. at 7:45 p.m. Saturday and charged with a traffic violation. Court date is set for Dec. 17 at 9 a.m.
Maria D. Munoz, 35, of 7536 N. Wolcott, Chicago, was arrested at 2005 Oakton St. at 3:44 p.m. Friday and charged with a traffic violation. Court date is set for Dec. 5 at 9 a.m.
Serafin Marino Ramirez-Soto, 26, of 101 Clyde Ave., was arrested at 612 Dodge Ave. at 12:56 a.m. Sunday and charged with driving under the influence. Court date is set for Nov. 28 at 9 a.m.
Adrian Jonathan Stulgate, 46, of Markham, was arrested at 1454 Elmwood Ave. at 1:14 a.m. Friday and charged with a traffic violation. Court date is set for Dec. 12 at 9 a.m.
Omar Valencia-Tirado, 21, of 1606 Maple Ave., was arrested at Dodge Avenue and Seward Street at 3:15 a.m. Saturday and charged with a traffic violation. Court date is set for Nov. 6 at 9 a.m.










Yard signs
I'll will bet 20 - 1 that the political signs damaged or stolen were for Republican candidates. I know that only a small segment of Democratic supporters would be willing to commit crimes like this but progressives like this give a bad name to the majority of the party.
It is to bad that Republicans and Independents are not welcome in Evanston.
