EVANSTON CRIME: Armed robbery at gas station on Asbury

Battery
Kenneth Willard Johnson, 3d, 36, of 2001 Foster St., was arrested at his home at 7:30 a.m. Friday and charged with domestic battery. He is due in court on Oct. 17 at 9:30 a.m.
Kristen Renner, 46, of 540 Sheridan Road., was arrested at her home at 12:15 a.m. Saturday and charged with battery. She is due in court on Nov. 14 at 9 a.m.
Burglary
A bicycle was stolen from the unlocked garage of a home in the 1700 block of Dobson Street between 9:30 a.m. and 1:20 p.m. Saturday.
Someone broke into an unlocked 2009 Volkswagen in the 1300 block of Judson Avenue between 4 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday and stole valuable documents.
Copper piping was stolen from a home in the 1100 block of Pitner Avenue around 1 p.m. Oct. 3.
A mountain bike was stolen from the unlocked garage of a home in the 2500 block of Noyes Street between 7 p.m. Friday and 7:30 a..m. Saturday.
Someone broke the front door to gain entrance to a home in the 3200 block of Central Street between 9 p.m. Friday and 4 a.m. Sunday and stole cash, a laptop computer, electronic games, and various colognes and perfumes. Suspect is a 5-foot-5-inch-tall white male weighing 130 pounds.
Someone broke the window of a 1998 Chevrolet in an apartment parking lot in the 2000 block of Maple Avenue and stole a car stereo between 7 p.m. Friday and 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
Someone stole the handicap placard from an unlocked vehicle parked on the street in the 1700 block of Sherman Avenue between noon and 12:30 p.m. Sunday.
Criminal damage to property
Someone broke into a religious institution in the 2400 block of Howard Street between 6:30 p.m. Oct. 6 and 7 a.m. the following morning and broke 10 chairs.
Someone broke the window of an apartment in the 1900 block of Darrow Avenue between 8:20 p.m. and 8:50 p.m. Saturday.
Drugs
Amanda J. Sabin, 32, of 1458 Chicago Ave., was arrested at 700 Howard St. at 4:16 p.m. Friday and charged with possession of cannabis. She is due in court on Nov. 9 at 9 a.m.
Other
Lillian T. Taylor, 28, of 1410 N. Talman Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 1454 Elmwood Ave. at 11 a.m. Wednesday and charged with forgery. She is due in court on Nov. 7 at 9 a.m.
Robbery
Someone displayed a gun and robbed his victim of cash at a service station in the 400 block of Asbury Avenue at 10:27 p.m. Saturday. Suspect is a 5-foot-10-inch-tall black male weighing 160 pounds.
Theft
Someone stole a purse on a bus in the 1600 block of Benson Avenue at 6:35 p.m. Thursday.
Copper downspouts were stolen from the garage of a home near Ridge Avenue and Dempster Street between 9 a.m. Saturday and 12:23 p.m. Sunday.
A laptop computer was taken from a backpack at Evanston Township High School between 12:30 p.m. and 1:15 p.m. Friday.
A cell phone was taken from a classroom at Evanston Township High School between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Friday. Suspect is a 5-foot-9-inch-tall black male weighing 150 pounds.
Traffic
Daniel Gonzalez, 27, of 1915 Emerson St., was arrested at 1929 Brown Ave. at 8:52 p.m. Saturday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Oct. 30 at 9 a.m.
Juan Ruiz Gonzalez, 28, of 6945 N. Paulina Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 999 Howard St. at 8:56 p.m. Sunday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Oct. 30 at 9 a.m.
Andrew Iniguez, 22, of 800 Hinman Ave., was arrested at 500 Main St. at 11:30 p.m. Thursday and charged with driving under the influence. He is due in court on Nov. 19 at 9 a.m.
Martin Melendez, Jr., 41, of 1804 Mulford St., was arrested at 1110 Darrow Ave. at 9:47 p.m. Sunday and charged with driving under the influence. He is due in court on Nov. 14 at 9 a.m.
