EVANSTON CRIME: Mountain bikes stolen on Main and Greenwood

Mountain bikes were hot items for thieves in Evanston. One was stolen in the 600 block of Main Street and two more were taken from the garage of a home in the 1600 block of Greenwood Street. These and other stories in today's daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Burglary

2500 Oakton

Miscellaneous tools were taken from a 1994 Chevrolet in the 2500 block of Oakton Street between 4:45 p.m. Monday and 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

600 Chicago

Someone broke a window to gain entry to a pharmacy in the 600 block of Chicago Avenue at 2:35 a.m. Friday, whereupon they stole some cigarettes.

1600 Greenwood

Two mountain bikes were stolen from the garage of a home in the 1600 block of Greenwood Street between 5 p.m. Sunday and 6:47 p.m. Thursday.

2600 Hartzell

A wooden bowl with handle was stolen from a home in the 2600 block of Hartzell Street between 7 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday.

Other

1801 Lyons

Kelvin Maurice Jackson, 24, of 6619 S. Union, Chicago, was arrested at 1801 Lyons St. at 3:50 p.m. Thursday and charged with loitering. He is due in court on Nov. 1 at 9 a.m.

1000 Grove

Sydney Nicole Jacobs, 18, of Wilmette, and Maria Christina Pesce, 18, of Manapalan, were arrested at 1000 Grove St. at 3:10 a.m. Friday and charged with disobedience to police. They are due in court on Nov. 21 at 9 a.m.

Theft

1300 Howard

A cell phone case and car charger were stolen from a 2008 Honda that was unlocked in a business parking lot in the 1300 block of Howard Street between 2:36 p.m. and 3 p.m. Thursday.

600 Main

A mountain bike locked to a bike rack in the 600 block of Main Street was stolen shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday.

Traffic

1600 Dodge

Randy L. Mhoon, 51, of 5907 N. Glenwood, Chicago, was arrested at 1600 Dodge Ave. at 9:10 a.m. Thursday and charged with a traffic violation. Court date has been set for Oct. 30 at 9 a.m.

Austin at Custer

Ashley Michelle Mortensen, 28, of 429 S. Clinton, Chicago, was arrested at Austin Street and Custer Avenue at 8:46 a.m. Wednesday and charged with a traffic violation. Court date has been set for Nov. 14 at 1:30 p.m.

1100 Dodge

Tanika Lavon Austin, 34, of Woodbury, was arrested at 1100 Dodge Ave. at 4:13 p.m. Wednesday and charged with a traffic violation. Court date has been set for Nov. 6 at 10:30 a.m.
