EVANSTON CRIME: Mountain bike stolen on Elmwood; laptop taken at ETHS

A mountain bike was stolen out of an apartment storage locker in the 1200 block of Elmwood Avenue and a laptop was taken from a desk at Evanston Township High School. These and other stories in today's daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Burglary

600 Chicago

Someone broke the window of a drugstore in the 600 block of Chicago Avenue at 12:10 a.m. Thursday and stole some tobacco products. Suspect is a 5-foot-8-inch-tall male.

Other

2033 Darrow

Tevin Brown, 19, of 708 Dobson St., and Kevon Ronere Cox, 18, of 825 Dodge Ave., were arrested at 2033 Darrow Ave. at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Brown was charged with a traffic violation, while Cox was charged with illegal possession of alcohol as a minor. They are due in court on Nov. 28 at 9 a.m.

Theft

2485 Howard

Kostadin B. Minchev, 23, of 7965 Karlov, Skokie, was arrested at 2485 Howard St. at 4:56 p.m. Wednesday and charged with retail theft in connection with the disappearance of alcoholic products from a grocery story in the 2400 block of Howard Street. He is due in court on Dec. 5 at 9 a.m.

1200 Elmwood

A men's mountain bike was stolen from an apartment storage locker in the 1200 block of Elmwood Avenue between 9:30 p.m. Saturday and 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

1600 Dodge

A laptop computer was taken from a desk at Evanston Township High School between 2:15 p.m. Tuesday and 4:51 p.m. Wednesday.

Traffic

Central at Hartrey

Julio Cesar Diaz-Hernandez, 37, of 847 N. Kostner, Chicago, was arrested at Central Street and Hartrey Avenue at 4:12 p.m. Wednesday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Nov. 9 at 10:30 a.m.

3339 Golf

Reyna Leon-Hernandez, 25, of 2061 W. Touhy, Chicago, was arrested at 3339 Golf St. at 9:40 p.m. Wednesday and charged with a traffic violation. She is due in court on Nov. 9 at 9 a.m.
