EVANSTON CRIME: Copper gutters ripped off church on Washington

Thieves removed copper gutters and a downspout from a religious institution in the 1100 block of Washington Street. This and other stories in today's daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Battery

232 Callan

Janell La'Desha Austin, 27, of 232 Callan Ave., was arrested at her home at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and charged with battery. She is due in court on Nov. 22 at 9 a.m.

Burglary

500 Sheridan

Cash, cell phone, and charger were stolen from a 2003 Ford that was parked unlocked in an apartment parking lot in the 500 block of Sheridan Road between 9 p.m. Friday and 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Graffiti

1600 Dodge

Graffiti was discovered on the school grounds at Evanston Township High School at 4:54 p.m. Tuesday.

Other

2040 Brown

Eric Leland Rose, 24, of 3210 Harrison St., was arrested at 2040 Brown Ave. at 8:25 p.m. Tuesday and charged with littering. He is due in court on Nov. 1 at 9 a.m.

Theft

1100 Washington

Copper gutters and downspout were removed from a religious institution in the 1100 block of Washington Street between 3 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Traffic

2525 Church

Beniot Green, 47, of 10077 Frontage Road, Skokie, was arrested at 2525 Church St. at 5:57 p.m. Tuesday and charged with a traffic violation. Court is set for Nov. 6 at 10:30 a.m.

1800 Dempster

Ana Ruth Jimenez, 21, of 1922 W. Pratt Blvd., Chicago, was arrested at 1800 Dempster St. at 2:05 p.m. Monday and charged with a traffic violation. Court is set for Oct. 23 at 10:30 a.m.

1600 Central

Evelyn Pina, 28, of 6300 N. Hermitage, Chicago, was arrested at 1600 Central St. at 8:05 a.m. Monday and charged with a traffic violation. Court is set for Oct. 23 at 10:30 a.m.

1725 Dodge

J. Carmen Rodriguez-Torres, 41, of 1814 Hartrey Ave., was arrested at 1725 Dodge Ave. at 6:36 p.m. Tuesday and charged with a traffic violation. Court is set for Nov. 9 at 10:30 a.m.
