EVANSTON CRIME: Gunman spotted twice in Brown-Church area

A man with a gun was reported in the 1800 block of Brown Avenue at 7:15 p.m. Thursday and again about an hour later in the 2400 block of Church Street, just a short distance away. These and other stories are in today's daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Drugs

1816 Dodge

J. M. Salver, 51, of 1207 W. Leland, Chicago, was arrested at 1816 Dodge Ave. at 3:35 p.m. Wednesday and charged with possession of methamphetamine. He is due in court on Oct. 17 at 9 a.m.

Graffiti

1400 Sherman

Graffiti was discovered on the street in the 1400 block of Sherman Avenue at 4:01 p.m. Thursday.

McDaniel at Church

Two men with guns were reported near McDaniel Avenue and Church Street at 8:14 a.m. Thursday. Police checked the area but did not see the offenders.

1800 Brown

A man with a gun was reported in the 1800 block of Brown Avenue at 7:15 p.m. Thursday. Police checked the area but did not see the offender.

2400 Church

A man with a gun was reported in the 2400 block of Church Street at 8:25 p.m. Thursday. Police checked the area but did not see the offender.

Theft

1300 Dobson

A grey 1993 Nissan Maxima was stolen in the 1300 block of Dobson Street between 9 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday.

Traffic

1600 Chicago

Jaime Eduardo Espinosa, 35, of Portland, Ore., was arrested at 1600 Chicago Ave. at 7:57 a.m. Wednesday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Oct. 23 at 10:30 a.m.

1130 Church

Jonathan Ulises Perez, 21, of 3558 N. Nottingham, Chicago, was arrested at 1130 Church Street at 10:16 a.m. Wednesday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Oct. 23 at 10:30 a.m.
