Kevin Barber, 50, of 803 Brummel St., was arrested at his home at 5:53 a.m. Sunday and charged with domestic battery. He is due in court on Sept. 19 at 9:30 a.m.
EVANSTON CRIME: Evidence found of shots fired
Usually when Evanston police receive a call that gunshots were heard, they check the area and find nothing. But in the 900 block of McDaniel late Monday night, they discovered evidence of shots fired. This and other stories in today's daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.
Battery
Criminal damage to property
Someone cracked the rear door frame of an apartment in the 1900 block of Dodge Avenue between 1:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. Friday.
Criminal damage to vehicle
Scratches were inflicted on a 2010 Chevrolet parked on the street in the 1900 block of Sherman Avenue between noon Saturday and noon Monday.
Criminal trespass
John Bertel Roberts, 47, of 1404 Fowler Ave., was arrested at 1748 Brown Ave. at 6:57 p.m. Monday and charged with trespass. He is due in court on Oct. 9 at 1:30 p.m.
Robbery
An offender pointed a handgun at victims and demanded their property, taking cash and a Coach purse. Suspects are two black males, about 5-feet-8-inches tall and weighing 180 pounds.
Shots heard
Gunshots were heard in the 900 block of McDaniel Avenue at 10:53 p.m. Monday. Officers checked the area and discovered evidence of shots fired.
Theft
Someone stole a wallet and cash from a locker in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue between 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Monday.
A catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle parked near Dempster Street and Hartrey Avenue between Sept. 2 and 9 a.m. Friday.
Traffic
Giovanny Gatica, 33, of 4612 W. Howard St., Skokie, was arrested at 316 South Boulevard at 8:22 p.m. Friday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Oct. 30 at 9 a.m.
Francisco J. Jasso, 42, of 1819 Lemar Ave., was arrested at 748 Dodge Ave. at 4:46 p.m. Friday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Oct. 30 at 9 a.m.
