EVANSTON CRIME: Tablet computer, camera, jewelry stolen

Burglars got away with a tablet computer, a camera, and several pieces of jewelry from a home in the 1800 block of Oakton Street. Also, a car was stolen from the 1000 block of McDaniel Avenue. These and other stories in today's daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Assault

2300 Noyes

Bernard Kimmons, 46, of 2300 Noyes Ct., was arrested at his home at 8:40 p.m. Sunday and charged with assault. He is due in court on Sept. 5 at 9 a.m.

1700 Darrow

Two persons, identified as a black male and a black female, threatened their victim on the street in the 1700 block of Darrow Avenue at 4:52 p.m. Tuesday.

Burglary

2607 Central

Dauphin L. Erner, 18, of 2114 Darrow Ave., was arrested at 2607 Central St. at 2:57 a.m. Monday and charged with burglary from a motor vehicle. He is due in court on Sept. 11 at 9 a.m.

2153 Central Park

Two 17-year-old Skokie residents were arrested at 2153 Central Park Ave. at 4:54 p.m. Sunday and charged with burglary from a motor vehicle. They are due in court on Sept. 13 at 9 a.m.

1800 Oakton

Someone entered a home in the 1800 block of Oakton Street through an unlocked window between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday and stole a tablet computer, a camera, and several pieces of jewelry.

1900 Dodge

Someone forced open the basement door of an apartment common area in the 1900 block of Dodge Avenue between 4 p.m. Monday and 7:15 a.m. Tuesday and stole copper piping with fittings.

Drugs

2205 Foster

Desiree Carline Destin, 19, of 1745 Brown Ave., was arrested at 2205 Foster St. at 11:35 p.m. Tuesday and charged with possessing drug paraphernalia. She is due in court on Sept. 12 at 9 a.m.

2205 Foster

Samuel Anthony Thomas, 19, of 1328 Brummel St., was arrested at 2205 Foster St. at 11:35 p.m. Tuesday and charged with possession of cannabis. He is due in court on Sept. 12 at 9 a.m.

Other

2440 Main

Milford Rogers, 21, of 541 W. 85th St., Chicago, was arrested at 2440 Main St. at 4:20 p.m. Monday and charged with deceptive practice. He is due in court on Sept. 18 at 1:30 p.m.

1000 McDaniel

Timothy Smith, 53, of 2117 Church St., was arrested at 1000 McDaniel Ave. at 7:55 p.m. Tuesday and charged with possession of open alcohol. He is due in court on Sept. 28 at 9 a.m.

Robbery

1009 Noyes

Sean Thomas, 20, of 8136 S. Lafayette, Chicago, was arrested at 1009 Noyes Court at 11:59 p.m. Sunday and charged with armed robbery. He is due in court on Aug. 29.

Foster at Hartrey

A suspect identified as a 5-foot-7-inch-tall black male weighing 170 pounds robbed his victim of a purse at a park near Foster Street and Hartrey Avenue at 8:46 p.m. Monday.

Theft

2209 Howard

Kulsum Begum, 23, of 6331 N. Francisco, Chicago, was arrested at 2209 Howard St. at 2:41 p.m. Tuesday and charged with retail theft of food items from a department store. She is due in court on Sept. 18 at 1:30 p.m.

1000 McDaniel

A black four-door 2008 Ford LTD, with license plate No. 4088369, was stolen from the 1000 block of McDaniel Avenue between 10 p.m. Monday and 6:50 a.m. Tuesday.

Traffic

1023 Brown

Monica Estrada-Rodriguez, 29, of 1747 Grey Ave., was arrested at 1023 Brown Ave. at 5:04 p.m. Monday and charged with a traffic violation. She is due in court on Sept. 25 at 9 a.m.

607 Howard

Benjamin Avalos Rangel, 27, of 4329 Hamlin, Chicago, was arrested at 607 Howard St. at 8:55 a.m. Tuesday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Sept. 18 at 1:30 p.m.
