EVANSTON CRIME: Three car burglaries

Burglars broke into a Jeep on Central Park Avenue, a Volkswagen on Lincolnwood Drive, and a Cadillac on Davis Street. These and other stories in today's daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Burglary

1000 Davis

Someone entered an unlocked 1986 Cadillac parked on the street in the 1000 block of Davis Street shortly after noon Monday and stole a backpack containing financial documents.

2100 Central Park

Someone entered an unlocked 2007 Jeep parked in the driveway of a home in the 2100 block of Central Park Avenue between 8 p.m. Saturday and 12:15 p.m. Sunday and stole a cell phone, watch, and hat.

2200 Lincolnwood

Someone entered an unlocked 2000 Vokswagen parked on the street in the 2200 block of Lincolnwood Drive between 10:30 a.m. Saturday and 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

1900 Grant

Three bicycles were stolen from an unlocked garage of a home in the 1900 block of Grant Street between 1 p.m. Friday and 7:13 p.m. Monday.

Criminal damage to vehicle

1900 Main

Someone damaged the sunroof of a 2002 Lincoln Continental parked in a business parking lot in the 1900 block of Main Street between 8:30 a.m. and 1:05 p.m. Monday.

Robbery

600 South Boulevard

An armed robbery of a cell phone occurred Monday at 6 p.m. in the 600 block of South Boulevard. Suspect is a 5-foot-10-inch-tall black male weighing 140 pounds.

Theft

1128 Chicago

Dewitt N. Brown, 43, of 406 Callan Ave., was arrested at 1128 Chicago Ave. at 9:15 a.m. Sunday and charged with retail theft of alcohol products from a grocery store. He is due in court on Aug. 29 at 9 a.m.

1600 Sherman

Someone stole a wallet from a locker in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue between 8:45 p.m. and 9:25 p.m. Monday.

800 Davis

Food products were stolen from a convenience store in the 800 block of Davis Street at 7:26 a.m. Monday. Suspect is a 5-foot-8-inch-tall black male.

1700 Church

A Play Station video game console with controllers was stolen from a park building in the 1700 block of Church Street at 8:45 p.m. Aug. 11. Suspect is a 6-foot-2-inch-tall black male weighing 190 pounds.

1700 Grey

Copper pipe and fittings were stolen from a home in the 1700 block of Grey Avenue between 2 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. Monday.

Traffic

1117 Howard

Ira Marvin Ayers, 23, of 1570 Dewey Ave., was arrested at 1117 Howard St. at 2:37 a.m. Monday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Oct. 3 at 9 a.m.

Green Bay at Harrison

Dwight Jerome Moore, 38, of 8231 N. Springfield, Skokie, was arrested at Green Bay Road and Harrison Street at 9:36 a.m. Friday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Oct. 9 at 9 a.m.
