EVANSTON CRIME: 3 bikes stolen
Three bicycles were stolen in separate incidents in Evanston on South Boulevard, Reba Place, and Central Street. Those and other stories in today's daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.
Assault
Burglary
A silver necklace, a crystal vase, and a white tea cup with purple flowers were stolen from an apartment in the 700 block of Michigan Avenue between 4:30 p.m. July 27 and 3:30 a.m. August 6.
A burglar enetered the garage of a home in the 700 block of Central Street through an unlocked door and stole a bicycle between noon Sunday and 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Someone stole cash and a GPS unit from two cars parked in the driveway of a home in the 2100 block of Grey Avenue at 2:59 a.m. Wednesday.
A burglar entered an apartment in the 1100 block of Hull Terrace between 2:09 p.m. and 6:09 p.m. Tuesday and stole a three-page letter, two wine glasses, a sewing machine, and a painting from an art collection.
Criminal damage to property
Damage occurred to the front door window of an apartment in the 800 block of Florence Avenue between 1:47 p.m. and 2:47 p.m. Tuesday.
Criminal trespass
Eric Wilson, 51, of Hazel Crest, was arrested at 1925 Hartrey Ave. at 5:38 p.m. Monday and charged with criminal trespass on land. He is due In court on Aug. 22 at 9 a.m.
Other
Michael A. Chinn, 40, of 1735 1/2 Darrow Ave., was arrested at 1735 Darrow Ave. at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday and charged with obstructing a police officer. He is due in court on Aug. 31 at 10:30 a.m.
Theft
A 10-speed bicycle locked to a bike rack was stolen in the 600 block of South Boulevard between 5 p.m. and 5:50 p.m. Tuesday.
A mountain bike was stolen from the yard of a home in the 700 block of Reba Place around 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Someone stole five sandwiches and a chicken salad from a grocery store in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue shortly before 10 p.m. Monday. Suspect is a black male.
A check book was taken from the office of a business in the 1500 block of Sherman Avenue between August 1 and noon on Monday.
Someone stole hair straighteners from a barber or beauty shop in the 1700 block of Sherman Avenue at 12:35 p.m. Tuesday. Suspect is a 5-foot-6-inch-tall black male weighing 150 pounds.
Traffic
Andres Ramirez-Rodriguez, 30, of 521 Custer Ave., was arrested at 1700 Oakton St. at 9:39 a.m. Monday and charged with a traffic violation. Court date is Oct. 11 at 10:30 a.m.
Jesse Michael Waterkotte, 39, of 3308 Central St., was arrested at 2600 Walnut Ave. at 2:05 p.m. Monday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Sept. 18 at 10:30 a.m.
