EVANSTON CRIME: Hijack attempt at Church and Dodge

Police received a report of someone attempting to hijack a vehicle at Church Street and Dodge Avenue Sunday evening, This and other stories in today's daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Battery

1600 Cleveland

A victim reported being hit in the mouth in the alley in the 1600 block of Cleveland Street shortly after midnight Monday. Suspect is a black male.

2301 Foster

Lawrence J. Dudley, 27, of 2301 Foster St., was arrested at his home at 9:31 a.m. Saturday and charged with domestic battery. He is due in court on Aug. 22 at 9:30 a.m.

100 Asbury

Claudette Nina Hampton, 21, of DeKalb, was arrested at 100 Asbury Ave. at 4:40 a.m. Sunday and charged with battery. She is due in court on Oct. 9 at 9 a.m.

100 Asbury

Armeer Taylor, 41, of 142 Asbury Ave., was arrested at 100 Asbury Ave. at 3:20 p.m. Sunday and charged with domestic battery. He is due in court on Aug. 22 at 9:30 a.m.

Burglary

700 Roslyn

A burglar entered a home in the 700 block of Roslyn Place through an unlocked door between 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Saturday and stole a purse and a cell phone.

Criminal damage to property

500 Wesley

Damage was sustained to the door of an apartment in the 500 block of Wesley Avenue at 9:46 p.m. Monday. Suspect is a 5-foot-7-inch-tall white male weighing 120 pounds.

900 Forest

A couch was damaged in a condominium unit in the 900 block of Forest Avenue between 3 p.m. Friday and 5 p.m. Sunday.

Criminal damage to vehicle

1300 Dodge

The rear window of a 1997 Dodge was damaged between 2 p.m. Sunday and 6:40 a.m. Monday in the 1300 block of Dodge Avenue.

Drugs

1425 Emerson

Lemorne Bedward Cole, 23, of 1812 Ashland Ave., was arrested at 1425 Emerson St. at 4:50 p.m. Friday and charged with delivery of cannabis. Court is set for 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 5.

Graffiti

1000 Asbury

Graffiti was discovered in an alley in the 1000 block of Asbury Avenue at 2:36 p.m. Monday.

Church at Dodge

An attempt was made to hijack a vehicle at Church Street and Dodge Avenue at 9:37 p.m. Sunday. Suspect is a 5-foot-6-inch-tall black female weighing 130 pounds

1932 Emerson

Antonio R. Hooper, 44, of 1932 Emerson St., was arrested at his home at 3:14 a.m. Friday and charged with violating an order of protection. He is due in court on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.

1454 Elmwood

Rubin A. Saldana, Jr., 36, of 4953 Oakton St., was arrested at 1454 Elmwood Ave. at 9:05 a.m. Saturday and charged with criminal sexual abuse. He is due in court on Sept. 27 at 9 a.m.

Prairie at Lincoln

Patricia A. Witt, 72, of 2537 Prairie Ave., was arrested at Prairie Avenue and Lincoln Street at 5:50 p.m. Saturday and charged with violating an order of protection. She is due in court on Aug. 22 at 9:30 a.m.

Theft

1600 Cleveland

A catalytic converter was stolen from a 2000 Toyota parked on the street in the 1600 block of Cleveland Street between 12:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Monday.

900 Maple

A wallet was removed from a victim's purse in the 900 block of Maple Avenue between 11 p.m. Sunday and 7 a.m. Monday.

200 Ridge

A catalytic converter was stolen from a 2000 Toyota parked in an apartment parking lot in the 200 block of Ridge Avenue between 3:30 p.m. Sunday and 7 a.m. Monday.

1128 Hinman

Jimmie L. Williams, 54, of 1548 Chicago Ave., was arrested at 1128 Hinman Ave. at 9:33 a.m. Sunday and charged with retail theft. He is due in court on Sept. 18 at 9 a.m.

Traffic

1133 Emerson

Giovanni F. Dennison, 24, of 1822 Emerson St., was arrested at 1133 Emerson St. at 10:26 a.m. Friday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Sept. 18 at 9 a.m.

2500 Gross Point

Rodney Talavera, 22, of Waukegan, was arrested at 2500 Gross Point Road at 10:56 a.m. Monday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Sept. 18 at 1:30 p.m.
