500 Sherman
Someone attempted to open the doors and trunk of a 2001 Saturn at an apartment parking lot in the 500 block of Sherman Avenue at 2 p.m. Saturday. Suspect is a 5-foot-8-inch-tall black male weighing 150 pounds.
1700 Orrington
A laptop computer and a backpack were stolen from a 2012 Hyundai in the parking lot of a business establishment in the 1700 block of Orrington Avenue between 9 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday.
400 Ridge
A burglar damaged the rear door to gain entrance to an apartment in the 400 block of Ridge Avenue between 8:45 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Sunday and stole house keys and a car key.
300 Ridge
An oxygen tank was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 300 block of Ridge Avenue between 1:13 a.m. Saturday and 1 a.m. Sunday.

Thedis Nmi Brown, Jr., 50, of 8242 S. Marshfield, Chicago, was arrested at 1600 Dodge Ave. at 9:27 a.m. Thursday and charged with possession of a controlled substance. He is due in court on Aug. 22 at 9 a.m.

Graffiti was sprayed on a garage in the 1000 block of Colfax Street between 7 p.m. Tuesday and 5 p.m. Friday.

Charles Walker Altmaier, 59, address unknown, was arrested at 1329 Dodge Ave. at 4:25 a.m. Friday and charged with yelling, shouting, and singing. He is due in court on Aug. 23 at 9 a.m.

Michael Deshun Carruthers, 31, of Memphis, was arrested at 1800 Lake St. at 9:35 p.m. Saturday and charged with soliciting without a permit. He is due in court on Aug. 23 at 9 a.m.

Gunshots were heard in the 1800 block of Ridge Avenue at 9:05 p.m. Saturday. Police checked the area but found nothing amiss.
2300 Foster
Gunshots were heard in the 2300 block of Foster Street at 3:57 a.m. Monday. Police checked the area but found nothing,

Gunshots were heard near Chicago Avenue and South Boulevard at 3:40 a.m. Saturday. Police checked the area but found nothing suspicious.

Charles Robert Rosales, 38, of 130 Custer Ave., was arrested at 101 Asbury Ave. at 1:20 a.m. Saturday and charged with theft of batteries. He is due in court on Sept. 5 at 9 a.m.
300 Dodge
Cash and a cell phone were taken from a victim's purse and another victim's purse was taken from a table at a public building in the 300 block of Dodge Avenue between 10:06 p.m. and 10:26 p.m. Friday.

A package containing clothing was stolen from an apartment/condo common area in the 1400 block of Dobson Street between 1:58 p.m. and 6 p.m. Thursday.
1600 Benson
A ladies bicycle locked to a bike rack in the 1600 block of Benson Avenue was stolen between July 19 and 8:20 p.m. Friday.
1100 Chicago
Tobacco and liquor products were stolen from a grocery store in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue at 7:45 a.m. Saturday. Suspect is a black male.
1400 Sheridan
A camera and photo equipment was stolen from a home in the 1400 block of Sheridan Road between July 24 and July 29.
1900 Lee
Some keys were stolen from a home in the 1900 block of Lee Street between 5 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. Saturday. Suspects are a 5-foot-8-inch-tall male weighing 170 pounds and a 5-foot-10-inch-tall male weighing 180 pounds.
2700 Eastwood
A shotgun, 3 DVD movies, a black metal safe, a canvas ammunition bag, a walking cane, artwork, and furniture were stolen from an apartment in the 2700 block of Eastwood Avenue between July 1 and 6 p.m. Saturday. Suspect is a 5-foot-2-inch-tall white female weighing 100 pounds.

A locked 10-speed bicycle was stolen from the sidewalk in the 1100 block of Foster Street between 12:15 p.m. and 12:35 p.m. Friday.

A 2009 white four-door Kia Rio, with license plate No. K655873, was stolen from the street in the 2000 block of Emerson Street between 8 p.m. and 11:50 p.m. Saturday.

Someone stole a bicycle from the street in the 400 block of Sherman Avenue between noon July 13 and 4:20 p.m. Friday.
