Police seek home invaders on Asbury
Three gunmen and an accomplice escaped capture after they attempted to invade a home at 131 Asbury Ave. Wednesday afternoon, the Evanston Police Department reported.
Police responded to a 911 call at about 2:45 p.m. about the presence of men with guns.
The 21-year-old resident of the home told police that he had answered a knock at the door and was confronted by three gun-wielding black males in their late teens to early 20s and that a fourth was on watch outside.
Inside the home were two women and three children.
Police said the victim told them that he was styling the hair of one of the women and that the other woman was waiting. They said the gunmen made reference to the location of money and drugs.
They told police that the suspects fled after two of the occupants were able to escape.
Officers searched the area, but found nothing. No injuries were reported.
The incident continues to be investigated. Police request that anyone with information about the crime should call the Detective Bureau at (847) 866-5040.
