Evanston crime: Home burglaries on Darrow, Reba

Home burglaries are under investigation on Darrow Avenue and Reba Place. These and other stories in today's daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Burglary

800 Reba

A purse, a cell phone, and an electronic reader were stolen from an apartment in the 800 block of Reba Place between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. Thursday.

1900 Darrow

Someone entered a home in the 1900 block of Darrow Avenue through an unlocked bedroom window between 7:15 a.m. and 10:18 p.m. Thursday and stole computer and television equipment.

2400 Emerson

Someone opened an unlocked door of a 2000 Nissan parked on the street in the 2400 block of Emerson Street shortly before midnight Thursday and stole a cell phone. Suspect is a 5-foot-8-inch-tall black male.

Criminal damage to vehicle

1500 Sherman

A 2010 Chrysler sustained damage to the front windshield and two small dents on the rear passenger door in a parking lot in the 1500 block of Sherman Avenue between 3 p.m. Wednesday and 6 p.m. Thursday.

Other

742 Dobson

Justin Jay Dunlap, 19, of 742 Dobson Ave., was arrested at his home at 5:02 p.m. Wednesday and charged with possession of ammunition without a federal identification card. He is due in court on Aug. 28 at 9 a.m.

1655 Foster

Richard D. Tharpe, 19, of 1517 W. Simpson St., was arrested at 1655 Foster St. at 4 p.m. Thursday and charged with criminal trespass. He is due in court on Aug. 28 at 10:30 a.m.

Theft

1128 Chicago

Leroy Grant, 51, of 1458 Chicago Ave., was arrested at 1128 Chicago Ave. at 6:45 a.m. Thursday and charged with retail theft of tobacco products from a grocery store. He is due in court on Aug. 31 at 1:30 p.m.

1700 Madison

Someone removed two hanging flower plants from the porch of a home in the 1700 block of Madison Street between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. Monday.

400 Sherman

Someone stole a bicycle from the street in the 400 block of Sherman Avenue between noon July 13 and 4:20 p.m. Friday.

Traffic

Elmwood at Main

Eduardo Diaz, 41, of 7411 N. Clark St., Chicago, was arrested at Elmwood Avenue and Main Street at 2:50 p.m. Wednesday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Aug. 31 at 9 a.m.

2400 Howard

Penny Sue Krawczyk, 56, of 2115 W. Birchwood, Chicago, was arrested at 2400 Howard St. at 10 a.m. Thursday and charged with a traffic violation. She is due in court on Aug. 14 at 1:30 p.m.

1100 Dodge

Jason H. Myers, 32, of 1507 Emerson St., was arrested at 1100 Dodge Ave. at 8:20 p.m. Wednesday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Aug. 31 at 10:30 a.m.

123 Custer

Peter Daniel Pineda, 28, of 4733 S. Wolcott Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 123 Custer Ave. at 7:16 p.m. Wednesday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Sept. 5 at 9 a.m.

1311 Chicago

Cristian Vazquez, 28, of 7200 N. Ashland, Chicago, was arrested at 1311 Chicago Ave. at 10:10 a.m. Wednesday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Aug. 28 at 1:30 p.m.

An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law.
Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
