Police seek suspect in shooting

Evanston police say a 20-year-old Des Plaines man was walking with thee friends on the 1800 block of Lyons Street about 12:30 this moning when he was shot by an unknown assailant who fled on foot.

Police say that officers responding to 911 calls of shots fired and a man down found the victim lying in front of a home on the block.

The man, who suffered two gunshot wounds to his legs, was treated and released from Evanston Hospital.

A police spokesman says that the victim was uncooperative and that investigators suspect the shooting was gang related.
