Evanston crime: Robbery in south Evanston

1600 Oakton

Someone kicked in the door of a garage in the 1600 block of Oakton Street Wednesday between 7:15 a.m. and 6:45 p.m.

Other

1703 Orrington

Hazel Downs, 60, of 1458 Chicago Ave., was arrested Wednesday at 4:55 p.m. at 1703 Orrington Ave. and charged with possession of alcohol in public way. Court Date: 9 a.m. Aug. 9.

Robbery

700 Dobson

Two men held a weapon to the victim's head and took the victim's cash in an alley of the 700 block of Dobson Streetbetween 7:20 and 7:56 p.m. Wednesday.

Shots heard

2000 Foster

Someone reported hearing shots fired in the 2000 block of Foster Street Wednesday at 11:57 p.m. Police checked the area but found nothing.

Theft

1600 Orrington

Someone took two Apple MacBook Air laptops from an office building in the 1600 block of Orrington Avenue between 7 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Monday.

1600 Benson

Someone took a bike seat and light from a bicycle parked at a storage rack in the 1600 block of Benson Avenue Wednesday between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.

1600 Sherman

A women reported that two other women took two leather wallets from her purse in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue Wednesday between 4 and 4:15 p.m. The suspects were described as 5-foot-6-inch tall black females who each weighed about 200 pounds.

Traffic

900 Dodge

Mushand Lateach McKay, 34, of 1927 N. Kedzie in Chicago, was arrested at 900 Dodge Ave. and charged with a traffic violation. Court Date: 10:30 a.m. Aug 14.

1805 Brown

Darius Morales, 22, of 1716 Dodge Ave., was arrested at 1805 Brown Ave Wednesday at 3:40 p.m. and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court at 9 a.m. Aug 2.

1931 Central

Nicholas J. Starcevic, 50, of 6038 N. Austin in Chicago, was arrested at 1931 Central Ave. Tuesday at 4:35 p.m. and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court 9 a.m. Aug. 21.
