City in funk over Bill's Blues

Evanston's liquor control board has scheduled a meeting Monday to consider suspending the license of Bill's Blues.
The meeting notice cites delinquent filing of liquor tax returns and serving alcohol to minors as reasons for the hearing about the bar and music venue located at 1029 Davis St.
The bar also was the scene May 30 of a stabbing incident after a dispute broke out between two men shortly before the bar's 3 a.m. closing time.
Kemoy Dunn, 27, of Skokie, has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery in the incident that police say left Ronald Hutchinson with multiple injuries to his spinal cord.
The liquor control board meeting will be held at 11:30 a.m. in the aldermanic library at the Civic Center.

Bill's Blues
As a frequent attendee of folk concerts at Bill's, I have never seen a minor served...I have seen persons hired by Bill specifically to check ID's at the door. This is a wholesome part of Evanston's growng music scene and would be a terrible loss to the community
We're luck to have Bill's
We're lucky to have a live music venue like Bill's in town. My friends from other suburbs are amazed and envious that I can attend nightly performances just around the corner from my residence. The fight last month was unfortunate, but I was surprised at the accusation that they've been serving minors. When I visit, the bartender has always been thorough about checking IDs.
Bill often has no cover charge, to draw in more patrons, so there is no way to support the artists who play there without liquor revenues. If the license were suspended, it would be a true loss to the community.

I don't know Bill's -- sounds like it could be a good place to go. But I noticed this is in the story:

If Bill's isn't paying its liquor taxes or is paying them late, the City is going to come down hard on them. The City won't put up with a bar that doesn't send their money in on time.
With the do(ugh) - re - me slow to flow into the City's hands and a stabbing, it doesn't look good for Bill's. Maybe they could use some business advice/mentoring on paying the bills on time and keeping the drunken riff raff out?
