Utility work to slow traffic in 1700 block of Central

For ten days stating Tuesday McShane Construction and its subcontractors will be establishing underground utility connections for the new apartment building under construction at 1700 Central St. in Evanston

The work will include cutting open the roadway for water, storm and sanitary connections with associated restorations to the road and sidewalk.

One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained. Parking in the area will be restricted. The sidewalk on the south side of Central will be closed at times and flaggers will direct pedestrians to the north side of the street.
