Ethnic fest brings the world to the lakefront

The Evanston Ethnic Arts Festival continues today in Dawes Park on the lakefront with food, art, song, dance and crafts from all over the world.

The festival, which opened Saturday, includes several stages for performers, such as Ginger Lozar's puppet show and the Celtic band, Runa.

Samples of various ethnic cuisines are available, including Mexican, Armenian, African, and Greek.

The Family Art Activity Area has more than a dozen free arts and crafts activities for all ages.

And the free festival includes a display of works from more than 60 visual artists.

Today is the last day of the festival. Hours are noon to 7 p.m. Dawes Park is at Sheridan Road and Church Street in Evanston.
