What's up: Last long weekend of the summer

This Labor Day weekend is the last chance of the year to use your Evanston beach tokens. And there are a variety of other entertainment options -- from Shakespeare on the lawn to an architectural walking tour.

Conducted by Kris Hartzell of the Evanston History Center, this walk winds through the original town of Evanston, with a view to the architectural styles of different eras and how they reflect the growth and change of the city.

St. Mark's to Celebrate Labor in the Pulpit

St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 1509 Ridge Avenue, Evanston, will join more than 700 congregations from various Christian, Jewish and Muslim denominations and groups around the country who will hear a special message from a union member or union advocate during the Labor Day weekend.
