Evanston History Center hosts ice cream social

The Evanston History Center will host its annual ice cream social from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 28.

The free event features music from the Ridgeville Concert Band on the grounds of the history center's home at the Dawes House, 225 Greenwood St., from 1 to 2 p.m. followed by a magic show from 2 to 3 p.m.

There'll be face painting and Andy's Frozen Custard all afternoon, along with tours of the history center, including its new exhibit, “Bedrooms, Bathrooms, and Boudoirs.”
