"We have the best nurses in the world," said Jeffrey Murphy, CEO, Saint Francis Hospital, "55% of the hospital's nursing staff has advanced credentials in their field of expertise, while the nation's average is only 27%." The nursing team is led by Angelique Richard, Ph.D, Vice President of Patient Care Services, a passionate advocate for nurses and their ongoing education. "Angelique is a powerhouse, and a very inspirational human being. She is extremely supportive of the nursing team and they are a thriving group because of it. Nobody has better nurses than we do," said Margo Schafer, Director, Public Relations. Nurses at Resurrection
If Saint Francis Hospital truly valued its nurses they would stop union busting and let their nurses have a real voice in the workplace. Resurrection Health Care, which owns St. Francis, has used systematic intimidation and discrimination tactics to create an environment of fear in their hospitals so that employees who would like to have the opportunity to join a union have been to afraid to do so.
