North side of tower

This view of a model of the 49-story tower proposed for the Fountain Square block looks south along Sherman Avenue.
In the foreground from left are the Orrington Hotel, several low-rise commercial buildings on the east side of Sherman including the former Barnes & Noble store and, on the west side of Sherman, the former Varsity Theater building and the former Marshall Field's store.
Flanking the tower are the nine-story Carlson Building, the 22-story 1603 Orrington Ave. building that was Evanston's first skyscraper, and the new 25-story Sherman Plaza complex.
