'Y' says thanks to United Way

The McGaw YMCA team took time out Tuesday from their after school program to say thank you to all the residents, businesses, schools and hospitals in Evanston who support quality childcare for Evanston kids though the United Way.

Pictured with children enrolled in the Y's after school program are, from left, Steve Carlson, president of the Evanston Chapter of United Way of the North Shore; Bill Geiger, executive director of the McGaw YMCA; teacher Grace Almond, and Sonja Coster, vice president for child care services at the McGaw YMCA.

The United Way has announced it will provide $76,000 in support to the McGaw Y this year.
