Harvest time at farmers' markets

PeppersFarmers markets in Evanston are moving into autumn harvest mode this weekend.

The Downtown Farmers' Market on Saturday has just four more weeks to run. Itcontinues until Nov. 1 from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Maple Avenue and University Place.

Tomorrow will be the third-to-last session for the West End Market, at Church Street and Dodge Avenue.

The West End market is planning a special Harvest Day session its last day, Saturday, Oct. 25. Hours are 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. The day will feature live entertainment starting at noon, goodie bags for children, pumpkin-decorating, face painting and games. Produce, prepared hot foods and arts and crafts will be for sale.
