Civic Center Report and the Council's continued mismanagement against the public interest

Junad RizkiSunday, Mar. 30, 2008, at 7:17 am

Those that think the council knows best are kidding themselves - the council members continue to just screw things up here. What is more troubling some of the council member think they are smarter than the public. Their latest nonsense with the Civic Center Report is very interesting in how they have broken the law. The report with mistakes is a public document. Why because they chose to act on it and dicuss it. They did not table the discussion to wait for the corrected document. They were discussing the report at the meeting therefore it is a public document with the math errors. It appears they took votes.

The question is are they now adjusting the numbers to make their vote look correct? What is more interest this points to a problems with staff and Ms. Carrol's management skills if they would let a report out with the wrong numbers. Who looked at this prior to release? (And city officials refused to provide printed copies of the study to the audience, saying there were math errors in the available version that made it inaccurate.)

While it is not worth the time for citizen's to take legal action against these people. This continues to show their poor judgements that cost the taxpayers money. This is part of the long and growing cover ups, which is underminding the public's trust in the council members as individuals and collectively. This is like the continue open meeting voilations where they meet in secret, they just do not care to not break the law.
