Green Living Festival

City of EvanstonSaturday, Sep. 15, 2007, at 9:57 am

Evanston's first ever Green Living Festival takes place Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Evanston Ecology Center, 2024 McCormick Blvd.

From natural pet products to electric cars, explore new products and technologies that will help protect the environment and improve everyone's quality of life.

Find out how being kinder to Mother Earth may actually save you time and money.

Beginning at 9 a.m. and running through 3 p.m., the free family festival will feature exhibits from more than 20 local green businesses and organizations.

Throughout the day environmental experts and advocates as well as City of Evanston staff will explain how you can be a green citizen. Through hands-on activities, presentations and demonstrations, discover practical ideas and tips that can be used immediately to conserve precious resources.

Those who walk or ride bikes to the festival will receive a green reward, and a corral will be set up to safely take care of all bikes.

The Evanston Green Living Festival is co-sponsored by the Evanston Environmental Association, the City of Evanston, ComEd and Northwestern University. For more information, call 847-448-8256.
