The National Political Do Not Contact Registry
As a concerned voter I'm writing to both national and local politicians respectfully to ask that you take the "Do Not Contact" pledge and agree to stop calling me at home. I have registered my phone number on The National Political Do Not Contact Registry and desire not to have any calls from candidates or issues this election. Please understand that while you think that calling me will influence my vote, it will not. In fact, the more that you call, the more that I may think about voting for someone else, or not at all. I am an educated voter; I have read about the issues and intend to vote accordingly - your calls have little or no effect on me; nonetheless I have recieved no less than 4 political robo-calls in the last two days.
Neighbors, to find out more about the National Political Do Not Contact Registry I have joined you can go to: http://www.stoppoliticalcalls.org
There, you will find information on how to send your elected officials a request to take the Do Not Call Pledge and hopefully we can address this privacy issue (politicians are currently exempt from the National Do-Not-Call registry)
