What a JOKE - the city council members attacking the township budget and assessor!

Junad RizkiMonday, Jun. 09, 2008, at 9:26 pm

Watching the council members ask silly questions about minor expense report items of the assessor tonight at the township meeting- such as her meals and the classes she is taking- while these same people have no problems giving thousands of dollars of taxpayer money on their pet projects and to special interest groups is disgusting.

Anyone with any intelligent who goes to the public works meeting see how these council members mismanage the projects - and waste large amount of our tax dollars should understand this. Not one of these people asked why there was a 3 million dollar over run (if not more on the Sherman ave garage) or did they seem to have much understanding when the staff pulled out the elevator ventilation creating a dangerous situation on the garage and calling it value engineering. Which a few meetings ago they claimed they corrected for about $30,000. (maybe?)

What happened with the over run on the alarm system tonight - about $50,000 because the city does bother to review the contract awards? I seem to recall one genius council member asked if they could remove an alarm system after it was installed and relocate it since they hoped to rebuild Robert Crown - what a joke.

Looking over the police and fire tower proposal they looked at tonight it become clear no employee is accountable to get the work done - could be why when its screw up there is no one to blame?

Watching these council members tonight asked the assessor about a few hundred dollars expenses - is such nonsense - by the way the assessor is a part-time elected employee does she get $10,000 - $17,000 in medical benifits like these part-time council members? Who really has the public interest in mind?
