4th of July flag ceremony at fire station

A flag ceremony will be held at the construction site for Evanston's new Fire Station #5 at 2830 Central St. at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 4.

Mayor Lorraine Morton; Alderman Edmund Moran, 6th Ward, and Fire Chief Alan Berkowsky will speak, and the Fire Department's chaplain will offer a blessing.

The event is sponsored by the City of Evanston in cooperation with the 4th of July Association. The new fire station is scheduled to open later this year.
