13th Annual Ricky Byrdsong Memorial Race Against Hate set for June 17, 2012

The 13th annual Ricky Byrdsong Memorial Race Against Hate presented by Allstate, will take place Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Long Field in Evanston.  It will include chip-timed 5K and 10K runs, a 5K walk and a fun youth mile. The event, hosted by the YWCA Evanston/North Shore, also features on-field refreshments, music and fun for the whole family.

The 10K race begins at 7:30 a.m., the 5K walk/run will start shortly thereafter and the youth mile, an out and back course on Sheridan Road, kicks off at 9:00 a.m.  Registration is already up 50% percent over the same time last year, with over 1,400 people registered!  Start a team, join one, or sponsor your friends and family online today at www.ywca.org/raceagainsthate.

Pre-registration is ongoing, with a fee of $35 for the 5K/10K and $10 for the youth mile, which includes a free technical t-shirt for the first 3,400 5K/10K registrants and  a cotton t-shirt  for the first 500 youth milers to pick up their packets.  However, if you sign up before June 1 you will get the early registration price of $32 for the 5K/10K.

Online registration will close Tuesday, June 12 at 5pm. After that time, please plan on registering at a packet pick-up or on Race Day.

Participants can also register on Race Day beginning at 6:15 a.m. for a $39 fee; registration for the youth mile is $15 at the Race.
