Michael Mulcahy, trombone

A recital featuring Michael Mulcahy, trombonist. A member of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra trombone section since his appointment by Sir Georg Solti in 1989, Mulcahy's program includes Albrechtsberger’s Concerto for Alto Trombone and more.

Mulcahy has performed as a soloist with the CSO under Daniel Barenboim as well as with the Bavarian Radio Symphony, Hilversum Radio Symphony, and Melbourne Symphony.

Active as a member of the Chicago Chamber Musicians, he has collaborated with such artists as Pierre Boulez, Joseph Silverstein, Christoph Eschenbach, William Bolcom, and Yo-Yo Ma.

Mulcahy is also principal trombone of Chicago’s Music of the Baroque and the Grand Teton Music Festival.
