Getting smart about health insurance

Jonathan PermanWednesday, May. 07, 2008, at 4:45 pm

The Evanston Chamber of Commerce will present a program "Get Smart: The Cost of Health Insurance: What You Can Do Now for Yourself, Your Company and Your Employees" at 7:45 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, in the lower level conference room at One Rotary Center, 1560 Sherman Ave.

This seminar is designed to address key issues facing employers in the Evanston marketplace, including the root causes of health insurance rate increases, changes in health insurance products and services and how to impact health care costs.

The session is designed for human resources professionals, administrative managers of small and medium-sized businesses, early-stage entrepreneurs and anyone who is faced with selecting health insurance products and services for their company.

Learn about plan design, retooling plans, premiums, cost-sharing, and the cost/benefit trade-offs you need to consider as an employer. Finally, the seminar will discuss the three major presidential candidates’ health care proposals so you can sort out the differences and better understand the policy direction that might be taken at both the federal and state levels.

The featured speaker will be Randal Sable, president of Total Benefit Services, Inc., an Evanston-based employee benefit company in operation since 1980.

Cost: $15.00 for Members; $20.00 for guests, includes a continental breakfast. Please RSVP by email to info@evchamber.com.
