Public interest program seeks host groups
The Northwestern University Public Interest Program (NUPIP) is a fellowship program that places graduating Northwestern seniors in public interest jobs throughout the Chicago area.
The NUPIP is designed to introduce young alumni to organizations whose missions are to create systemic social change; as well as to enable these organizations to capitalize on the Fellow’s experience, intelligence, and work ethic.
The program, now in its second year, established by a Northwestern faculty member and several students, and has been well-received by Northwestern alumni, faculty and administrators.
The program coordinates job placement, weekly seminars, mentorships and in its first year placed 14 Fellows at sites throughout the Chicago area, including the Grand Victoria Foundation, the Center for Neighborhood Technology, and the City of Evanston.
Under the fellowship, a Northwestern University graduating senior works full-time for 10-12 months for a host organization which provides a stipend of at least $2,000 per month plus full health insurance coverage for each fellow.
If you are interested in being a Host Organization or Company, Coordinators of the NUPIP program can be reached at nupip@northwestern.edu or NUPIP Advisor Paul Arntson can be reached at p-arntson@northwestern.edu or by calling 847-491-5838.
