Pool leak blamed for store closing
Pier 1 plans to reopen its Evanston store -- once the ceiling stops leaking.
That's the word this morning from company spokesperson Whitney Rogers, who says the pool in the LA Fitness health club on the second floor of the downtown Sherman Plaza development, above the Pier 1 store, has been leaking, causing damage to some of the store's stock.
She says the company's still trying to get an estimate on how much work will be required to stop the leak and repair the damage, and there's no timeline yet for when the store at 1612 Sherman Ave. will reopen.
