Cereal yields to sportswear

LululemonThe long-vacant Sherman Plaza storefront once occupied by the breakfast cereal restaurant Cereality has a new tenant.

It's Lululemon Athletica Inc., a designer and retailer of technical athletica apparel based in Vancouver, B.C.

The 10-year-old firm is a publicly traded company and has over 100 stores, most in the U.S.

It sells what the company website calls "yoga-inspired apparel for healthy living."

Lululemon
Storefront at 1622 Sherman Ave being readied for an opening "soon."

In Illinois it already has three stores in Chicago as well as ones in Northbrook and Oak Brook.

I don't know much about this business, but from the sounds of it, it is well targeted to a demographic that is present in Evanston and strategically located next to LA Fitness. Hopefully it will be a success and I'm happy to see a key corner of the Sherman Plaza development occupied once again.
