Do you watch city government from home?

Evanston NowMonday, Dec. 01, 2008, at 10:21 am

Here at Evanston Now we're considering a new feature to enhance our coverage of city government.

You can help us assess the interest in that feature by answering our new poll about whether you watched either the Planning and Development Committee meeting or the City Council meeting (or both) live on Evanston cable TV channel 16 on Monday night, Nov. 24.

Thanks for your help!

Live video streaming over the internet is apparently fairly inexpensive to add on to an existing TV feed system - and retrieval of archived meetings is then also available as well allowing real time meeting viewing by people who are out of town but have internet access.

Check out the City of Novi MI as an example of a community that has implemented a video streaming system as an adjunct to its municipal cable-TV broadcasts.

Use IE browser, Firefox doesn't work

Bill,

Your poll needs another option. There are families in Evanston without TVs, and there are families who do not subscribe to cable. Yep, I'd watch excerpts if you posted them here.
