Smith Park Slated For Renovation!!

On November 2nd, at Mason Park Fieldhouse, neighbors of Elnora Smith Park, located at Lyons & Ashland, met to discuss the future of the park. In attendance were neighbors from the 1600 & 1800 blocks of Ashland, 1700 block of Wesley & the 1400 block of Lyons. Also in attendance were City of Evanston employees, Doug Gaynor, Director of Parks, Forestry & Recreation, Paul D'Agostino, Supervisor of Parks & Forestry and Stephanie Levine, Project Manager. The consultant hired to create a new plan for Smith Park is Site Design Group, Ltd. and representing them last night were Ernie Wong and Juli Ordower.

Making plans for Smith Park renovation

The city plans to update Elnora Smith Park at Lyons Street and Ashland Avenue next year and Smith Park Neighbors will meet Sept. 16 to gather ideas for the project.
