New principal at Lincolnwood School

Fred Hunter has been named interim principal at Lincolnwood School for the 2009-10 school year.

Hunter appointment came after Beth Sagett-Flores, the current principal, accepted an interim appointment as the Evanston/Skokie School District 65's director of human resources.

In recommending the interim appointments Superintendent Hardy Murphy said they will give the district "an opportunity to capitalize on the expertise and knowledge of its employees."

Hunter has been the assistant principal at Haven Middle School for the past three years and previously taught middle school mathematics at Haven.

He has a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Illinois State University and a master's in education administration from National-Louis University.

Hunter is a life-time Evanstonian whose children attend District 65 schools.

Sagett-Flores was principal at Lincolnwood Elementary for the past seven years.

Previously she was principal at the Solomon Elementary School in Chicago for three years and assistant principal and instructional coordinator at Louisa May Alcott Elementary School in Chicago for 13 years.

Flores earned a doctorate in educational administration from Illinois State University and holds a master's of education in curriculum and instruction from Loyola University.

Both administrators will start their new jobs July 1.
